Make it Monday: Thank You Poppy Card!

Hello friends! Paul needs four thank you cards for an upcoming conference so I took inspiration from this Painted Poppies stamp set (retired) that I had out for Anzac Day creating:

I chose Stampin’ Blends alcohol markers for the flowers, Basic Gray ink for the sentiment and Delicata Silvery Shimmer ink for the ‘splotchy’ pattern:

Oops, I nearly forgot, Wink of Stella was brushed across the red poppy for extra sparkle 🙂

I stamped and coloured six front panels as I wanted a couple of thank you cards for myself:

This Bark 3D Embossing Folder (retired) adds great texture, but the cardstock needs the wider double-sided tape (and a little liquid glue) just to make sure the panels stay stuck down!

The sentiment comes from Thankful Thoughts, another retired stamp set I bought about seven years ago (yes, I’m trying to use some of my MANY older stamp sets!):

I think this is a versatile design that would suit lots of occasions by just changing the sentiment:And this shows one of the envelopes I’m moving to using with my cards. They’re Australian-made in ‘Botany Natural,’ a kraft paper made from 100% recycled post-consumer waste and they have a beautiful, natural and rustic appearance:MEANWHILE … speaking of the envelopes, it was economical to buy 500 in one purchase so I did and they arrived today – now I have to find somewhere to store them!!Thanks so much for spending some time with me and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. 🙂 Megan xo

  1. Beautiful as always Megan. Your design could be used on several occasions, even as a Sympathy card. It’s hard to find one of those that is actually sympathetic to a sad loss. Just a thought. Xxx Joy

    1. Hi Joy, thanks for your feedback 🙂 I think you’re right, and I’m trying the design with a few different sentiments. Have a lovely day!
