Make it Monday: Scenic Notecards!
Hello friends! I hope this new week has started well for you – it’s certainly hinting that winter’s on its way here in Sydney and I even put my ugg boots on! Today, I made lots of notecards [measuring 4 1/8″ x 4 1/8″ OR 10.5 x 10.5 cm] from some stunning patterned paper!
Here are a few sheets of the New Horizons 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) Designer Series Paper. The original scenes were handpainted (but not by me!) and the tranquil watercolour imagery is quite beautiful:
The paper pack includes four of each of the 12 double-sided designs which is 48 sheets in total. I chose this pattern and cut the 4 sheets into four pieces [3″ x 3″ OR 7.6 x 7.6 cm]. Each piece then became the main ‘artwork’ on the notecards and I felt I didn’t need to add anything else:
One piece of A4 Basic White cardstock made 2 card bases [8 1/4″ x 4 1/8″ OR 21 x 10.5cm scored and folded in half) with some cardstock left over:
I layered the patterned paper onto a slightly larger Evening Evergreen cardstock layer:
The final layer was embossed using the Stone embossing folder (retired):
So, each notecard had a white card base, a white embossed layer, a green layer and finally the patterned paper layer 🙂
Four different notecards from one sheet of paper!
And by the end of the work day I’d made 16 cards in total, 4 of each design:
MEANWHILE … Jennie and I had a shortish but fun visit to Sydney Zoo last week on a warm and sunny afternoon – we love having zoo membership!
Thanks so much for visiting me today; I really appreciate you being here If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
