Make it Monday: Piano Easel Card!
Hello friends! I gave myself the challenge to create a special 18th birthday card for someone who loves music and plays the piano; this is what I made:
I can’t take any credit for the design as I followed the pattern shared by the very talented Dawn Olchefske; I just made a few changes to individualise the card. It uses the Music From The Heart Photopolymer Stamp Set that Dawn designed!
I also watched her video tutorial which has lots of helpful tips: I prepared the black piano keys as Dawn suggested but, rather than cutting individual white keys, I scored lines on the ‘keyboard’ to create the illusion of separate keys:
I embossed the black panel with musical notes and used a stamp positioning tool to make sure I stamped the stave, treble clef and music notes correctly:
I randomly stamped the musical notes on the stave, added glossy accents to give them some dimension and stamped ‘happy birthday’ in Golden Glitz Delicata Ink:
Here’s how the card looks when it’s folded flat and it fits perfectly in a standard C6 envelope:
This shows the back of the card with the easel effect:
And here you can see the writing panel on the reverse side of the keyboard:
MEANWHILE … For those who celebrate Mother’s Day, I hope you had a lovely day yesterday. ? We weren’t able to share the day with family (due to the ongoing impact of Covid-19 restrictions), but catching up with everyone via Zoom was fun! How beautiful are the flowers I received?! ?
Thanks so much for visiting me today; I really appreciate you being here 🙂 If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
