Just Add Ink #460: Emboss Resist
Hello friends! This week’s challenge from Just Add Ink was suggested by Lou from With a Bow on Top and is the fun technique of Emboss Resist; it’s a great technique for backgrounds or focal images.
I’ve used it to create the focal image for my card and I’ve popped it up with adhesive foam dots for added dimension:I embossed the dandelions from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set in black and this photo picks up the lovely shine and texture!
Shimmery White cardstock was perfect for water colouring and I used an acrylic block and three lovely Stampin’ Up! ink colours (Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather and Mango Melody) to create the bright background:
The sentiment “wishing you brighter days to come …” is from the Bright Wishes stamp set (retired) and I stamped it on a subtly embossed panel of Purple Posy cardstock; such a soft and pretty new in colour 🙂
Thanks so much for taking the time to visit today and I hope this gives you a little inspiration! Megan xo
I love you mango and purple colour combo Megan so vibrant and reminiscent of sunsets! It also makes a stunning back drop for your embossed dandelion flower. Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink this week. Kim
Thanks so much Kim! 🙂
I love the way your colours pop against the black silhouette of the dandelion, Megan! It’s such a striking design and the black frame and soft Posy background show it off beautifully. Thanks for sharing with us at Just Add Ink this week.
Thanks so much Jan! 🙂
I love these colours together Megan. They are so striking and look like they are swirling away with the dandelion petals. Thanks for joining us this week at Just Add Ink.
Thanks so much Lou! 🙂
