Countdown to Christmas 2023: 12 weeks!

Hello friends! Guess who’s been keeping us company for the last 3 weeks?! We miss having him around now, but don’t miss having to make sure he doesn’t escape every time we leave the house!

Counting down to Christmas has started and this week’s inspiration comes from the very talented Patty Waggoner:

For my ornaments I’m using the retired Storybook Gnomes Designer Series Paper (bottom right hand corner): 

For each ornament I need 4 pieces that are 6 inches (15.2 cm) by 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm) and scored at every half inch (1.27 cm):

Can you guess what I’m doing with this circle die (it’s 3 and 3/16 inches or 8 cm)?

It was brilliant for holding the shape of the ornament while I added glue – a ‘Megan Original’ idea!

A cardstock circle is glued down in the centre and on each side of the ornament (it’s easy to flip over):

I decided to make my own backing for the ornament rather than use a doily; it’s Basic White cardstock embossed with snowflakes:

The die-cut snowflakes for the centre of the ornament coordinate with the retired Frosted Gingerbread stamp set:

The centre is sparkly but tricky to photograph!

And it looks lovely on the wall hanging Christmas tree 🙂
