THEN & NOW Thursday: Fish Card!
Hello friends! It’s Thursday and time to share a project designed using both retired (THEN) and current (NOW) Stampin’ Up! products. This week, I felt like I used lots of retired product because I stamped so many of the images from the Seaside Shore stamp set, took a sentiment from Sunshine Sayings plus added some epoxy droplets for the water!
But then all the inks, cardstock, adhesive foam dots, embossing powder, Wink of Stella, Stitched Rectangle Dies and the High Seas 3D Embossing Folder are current so it’s balanced! 😉 You can see from the next picture that, after stamping and dry embossing the card front, I die cut out a rectangle; this left a frame which I adhered to the card front:
Can you also see that I turned the rectangle die cut over and and adhered it back in the gap, stamped side down, using Stampin’ Dimensionals? I love how this looked! It gave me a patterned frame and just the wave pattern on the rectangle where I could arrange the words. I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment 4 times, cut 3 of them up and then built the phrase:
I also adhered 2 fish to the writing panel and made a coordinating gift card/ money holder using 3 more fish:
The fish sparkle with Wink of Stella and were adhered with extra Dimensionals so they look like they’re swimming in the water:
KEEPING IT REAL I made 2 lots of fish. My first attempt at colouring the fish was to stamp them in Memento black ink and colour them with Stampin’ Blends – not happy!! All that fussy cutting for nothing!
Thanks so much for coming to visit me today! As always, it’s lovely to have you here 🙂 Megan xo
