Make it Monday: starting the year in the ocean!
Hello friends and (very) belated best wishes for the New Year! It’s hard to believe its now 10 years since we bought our first home. 🙂 With university studies and family history research going on in that time, I’ve accumulated a lot of paper that now needs shredding – such a satisfying process! This is bag number five and I still haven’t finished!!
I’m setting up the study so I can focus on card making again now that my studies are over; it can be a surprisingly messy process and I need all the space I can get! My first card for 2023 has an ocean vibe with a rather cute whale:
The Whale Done stamp set has adorable textured images and “punny” greetings as well as a coordinating Whale Punch. I diecut the greeting “My love for you is bigger than the ocean” with a Stitched Rectangle Die:
This picture shows the pattern you get when you dry emboss the cardstock with the Seabed 3D embossing folder (retired); yes, I still love to add dry embossing to most of my cards 🙂
I used three kinds of adhesive product to attach the greeting, whale and ‘hearts’ to the card front:
And now I have a new card design to add to my Etsy Shop!
MEANWHILE … ‘Friday Fun Day’ saw us at the MCA experiencing the work of Do Ho Suh, a South Korean artist who’s having his first solo exhibition in the Southern Hemisphere. His work includes large-scale installations, sculptures, drawings, printmaking, and video works and you can walk around, through and within many of them: breathtaking!
Thanks so much for visiting me today; it’s always lovely to have you here If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
