Make it Monday: Snails!!

Hello friends! I’m still doing a ‘Card a Day in May’ so I also chose a pun for the ‘Make it Monday’ card – how cute are these snails?!! This is after I’ve stamped and coloured them and added some shimmer with Wink of Stella: 

These are the stamp set and coordinating die outlines (now retired): 

And this is what the stamps and dies look like:

I thought I’d save time by stamping 4 of the stamps at the same time:  

Only problem was that the ink didn’t apply evenly to the stamps; as you can see, some images had too much ink and others not enough! 

I chose two of the more evenly stamped images, hand coloured them with Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers), and cut them out with the coordinating dies:

The silvery ink I used for the sentiment reminds me of the silvery trails snails leave behind:

The leaf pattern from embossing this Stitched Greenery Die (retired) also reminds me of a snail’s trail 🙂

When I finished making the card, it looked a little bare so I added the ‘congrats’ sentiment in black cardstock: 

MEANWHILE … When I recently saw Emily (from A wish for Emily) she was wearing a black choker; they’re currently in fashion! I remember wearing one when I was around the same age and found this old photo so I could show her 🙂
