Make it Monday: for Mothers & Others!
Hello friends! I know when I lived a long way from family how much the women in our local church supported and cared for us and loved our small children. I lost my Mum when I was in my thirties, but was blessed with other women in my life who encouraged, challenged and nurtured me along the way. That’s the inspiration behind a simple ‘thank you’ card rather than one you can only give on Mother’s Day. I’m hoping they can be shared with those we love and are grateful to have in our lives!
I chose dahlia flowers as their meanings include beauty, eternal love, inner strength, dignity, and kindness and they can symbolize themes of celebration, relationships, and resilience – perfect for my purpose! I also love that they come in all shapes and sizes, and in so many gorgeous colours; these are ‘pompons’:
And this dahlia embossing folder reminds me of them:
Using double sided adhesive foam dots really adds dimension to the card front, but lifting the whole card front like this isn’t a technique I employ very often:
Then I used all this …
… to create heat embossed sentiments 🙂
Two of the many cardstock colours I’m using:
And the five colours I’ve used so far: MEANWHILE … I was excited to win four tickets to see this performance by the Australian Shakespeare Company – we’re all hoping it doesn’t rain!!
Thanks so much for spending some time with me and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. 🙂 Megan xo
