Make it Monday: Christmas Trees!
Hello friends! Last time I posted, you may remember seeing our son’s cat sitting happily on our kitchen bench. This time, you can watch him happily stretching while resting in his favourite place: my lap! One place where our visiting cat is not allowed to go is into my Craft Studio!!
This is a recent purchase that can emboss the trees as well as die-cut them:
For my Christmas card design I only used 2 of the trees and the die-cutting function:
I’m saving the cut out trees for something else 🙂
Embossing the card fronts adds a touch of elegance:
This embossed pattern influenced my choice of Designer Series Paper for the trees:
Each piece of patterned paper [6″ x 6″ or 15.2 x 15.2 cm] was cut like this:
And I adhered the 3″ x 4″ [7.6 x 10.1 cm] pieces to the back of the cut out using liquid glue:
This is what happens when you lose concentration! I cut the card base on the right to the wrong length 🙁
Decision time – leave the cards like this or add a Christmas greeting?
I decided to add a greeting but was unsure about the best size so … I die-cut 2 different rectangles and eventually chose the longer/ narrower one:
Here is the finished card in green:
And in red:
MEANWHILE … This gorgeous bouquet arrived as a ‘thank you’ to our family for involvement in running a conference 🙂
Thanks so much for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed your visit and have a happy week (whatever you’re doing!). Megan xo
