Make it Monday: Butterflies!
Hello friends! This morning I visited our local Costco store – wow!! How wonderful it would’ve been to buy in bulk like this when our four children were growing up! There are still lots of items worth buying so it’s just as well we have a big pantry and I’ve hung on to our extra freezer 😉 This afternoon, I finished these butterfly cards and they’ll go in the shop tomorrow:Â
The tie-dye effect on the butterflies is created by stamping different colours randomly over a piece of A4 Shimmery White Cardstock. It’s a high quality heavyweight cardstock and is excellent for watercolouring. I used stamps from the Oceanfront stamp set and 4 of the 2022-2024 new in colours:Â
When the stamped cardstock was dry I cut it into strips:
I then used one of the Butterflies Thinlits Dies (retired) to cut out the butterfly shapes:
There were 8 butterflies in total so this particular card will be a limited edition one; no two butterflies look exactly the same 🙂
I love the butterfly embossing folder from Carabelle Studio (I’ve seen it for sale on ebay):
This is what I used to construct each card, and I think I’ll die-cut a smaller butterfly from the scraps to add to the inside writing panel:Â
MEANWHILE …Â On Friday afternoon, I had a fun catch up with 2 of my children at the Wentworth Falls Lake Park – beautiful and then foggy once the sun started to go down!
Thanks so much for taking some time out of your busy day to visit me here 🙂 Please ask if you have any questions about this card design, or anything else you’ve seen me post, and enjoy your week! Megan xo
Beautiful!
Thanks so much Stephanie! I love making the butterflies 🙂
