Make it Monday: Birthday Thanks!
Hello friends! It’s been so, so hot (39ºC or 102.2ºF) and I haven’t been feeling the best so I was quite happy to stay inside all day 🙂 I started this thank you card (for my birthday) yesterday which has worked out well given how I’ve been feeling today! (Postscript: it’s now Tuesday and I’ve begun to feel a bit better …)
The hydrangea stamp I used is one of the lovely floral images in the Beautiful Friendship stamp set:
You can really see the watercolour effect when it’s stamped using this fast drying, dye-based ink called Terracotta Tile:
I already had the basic card ready but decided to add extra flowers which meant lots of fussy cutting. I love the effect, just not all the cutting!
For attaching these extra flowers to the card fronts, I used larger adhesive foam dots:
I chose the ‘thank you’ sentiment from this retired stamp set:
After re-inking the stamp pad, I stamped the sentiment multiple times with Memento Tuxedo Black ink:
I then die-cut the sentiment using one of the smaller Rectangle Stitched Dies:
And added 3 different sized rhinestones near the leaves:
I also stamped the inside writing panel to coordinate with the card front 🙂
Once all the elements were prepared, the cards came together quite quickly:
MEANWHILE … I’ve just celebrated another birthday so have a new photo; I like it in black and white, but it also looks good in colour!
Thanks so much for taking some time out of your busy day to visit me Please ask if you have any questions about this card, or anything else you’ve seen me post! Best wishes, Megan xo
