Friday Show and Tell: Emily’s birthday invitation!

Hello friends! As you may remember, Emily’s end-of-March birthday wasn’t what she’d planned – thank you Covid-19! While she still had a fun day, her original plan was a Gymnastics Party as this is a favourite activity:

We planned and made the invitations together and here’s one that Emily completed:

The design brief was “… a simple card with a pop up piece of apparatus like a beam … gym colours are blue and purple …” so I started with the pop up beam; it took a while to get the proportions right:

That said, I was pretty pleased with how it turned out! 😉

For the legs of the beam I used a cross die from a Simon Says Stamp die set (retired) and a simple rectangle strip of cardstock worked well for the beam:

I used the gym colours in the card base and also on the gymnast’s leotard which I made by snipping off a few pieces of a Timeless Label punched image!

And the Stampin’ Up! retired Word Window punch made excellent legs and arms 🙂

The outside and inside of the card:

MEANWHILE … I had my temperature taken for the first time since Covid-19 restrictions were put in place in March (and got to wear this rather large label!):

Thank you so much for spending time with me today and if you have any questions, please ask. Have a lovely weekend! Megan xo
