Countdown to Christmas 2023: 6 weeks!
Hello friends! It’s been a birthday week at our house and one of the highlights was definitely this Messina gelato – delicious!! As a coeliac, Paul had to avoid the cone, but I’m delighted to report that it was also a tasty treat 😉
Speaking of treats, I’ve started to create the ones I’ll be giving away during the Christmas season 🙂 It’s a mini Hershey’s Kisses tree, very similar to the bigger version I’ve made in the past. The preparation involves cutting lots of Gorgeous Grape cardstock into 1 inch (2.5 cm) strips of various lengths:
And lots of scoring in (mainly) 1 inch (2.5 cm) increments:
The outer triangle for the tree is adhered with a liquid glue that sticks really well:
To make each tree, the different lengths of cardstock fit together like this:
This gives you a better idea of how they come together:
Yes, they’re being mass produced today!
The base of the tree is a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup, and the silvery star is attached with a mini glue dot:
And this is how I’m thinking to package them; I need to keep it simple when making so many!
MEANWHILE … we recently enjoyed lunch with family at Leura. The Bunker Cafe Bar Restaurant is located in a beautiful cottage on the hill:
Thanks so much for dropping by! I hope you enjoyed your visit and have a happy week (whatever you’re doing!). Megan xo
