Hello friends! Looking back at our photos from this time last year I saw I’d already put the Christmas tree up; we were slowly emerging from months of lockdown and isolation – I smiled and felt happy whenever the tree caught my eye! 🙂
This year, I’m waiting a bit longer for the tree but have already started on several new Christmas card designs. This one uses some very pretty Designer Series Paper that showcases candy canes:
I stamped ‘Do not open until Christmas’ near the top of the card front because a beautifully wrapped present will feature towards the centre; the candy cane theme is highlighted through the embossing:Â
The ‘present’ measures 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ (7cm x 7cm) and the slightly sparkly red ribbon is 2 3/4″ x 1/4″ (7cm x 6.4mm). The sweet bow is from the Holly Berry Builder Punch (currently on the Clearance Rack):
The presents on the writing panel come from Kangaroo & Company, a retired set, and are stamped in Olive Green ink:
I tried attaching the ‘ribbon’ to the present in 2 ways and quite liked using just one vertical strip (present on right). The family, however, voted for the alternative so two strips of red ‘ribbon’ it is! (present on left)The red ‘ribbon’ is slightly sparkly and the paper has lots of sparkly gold accents:Â Â
The front and inside of the finished card 🙂 MEANWHILE … our daughter was gifted this pretty garland recently by one of her students; lots of care and effort goes into making these!Â
