Make it Monday: New Home Card!
Hello friends! How has your week been? (Yesterday was a Public Holiday so this is a day late! 🙂 ) One high point for me was using my Philip’s All-in-One Cooker on Friday to cook chick peas, without soaking first, in just 45 minutes!! As you can see, my daughter was impressed too!Â
I made hommus with a recipe from Natasha’s Kitchen (there’s a video you can follow); it was delicious and very popular at our Church lunch on Sunday 🙂 Jennie took some home and we had a little left over:Â
The majority of materials I use in cardmaking are by Stampin’ Up! (I love their quality), but I sometimes use other products like this Bigz House Die from Sizzix:
These are the pieces it cut that I wanted to use for a house card:
But I designed the card using different colours …
… which meant lots of die-cutting of individual pieces using the Big Shot machine!
I also used the Big Shot for two lots of embossing – bricks on the house and a tree for the card front:Â
As this card is for my shop, I’m making multiples and, unlike some cards, there’s minimal stamping involved – just the words ‘happy new home’ in black ink:
This is what’s needed to bring the card together – double-sided tape, wet glue, adhesive foam dots (2 sizes) and a person with patience!
And here you can see one that’s been finished; I especially like the doorknob! 🙂
MEANWHILE … Paul’s been busy cleaning off our dirty brickwork along the front fence. It’s been made much worse by what felt like months of wet weather:Â Â
So happy you could stop by for a few minutes, I really appreciate it! Have a good week, Megan xo
