Make it Monday: It’s World Turtle Day!
Hello friends! Did you know the American Tortoise Rescue started marking World Turtle Day in 2001? I didn’t either!! In Australia, we’ve the 1 Million Turtles program and it supports initiatives to conserve threatened freshwater turtle species – so worthwhile! I decided to design a card card to celebrate these amazing reptiles 🙂 :
While the Whale of a Time paper has retired, the Whale Done stamp set and coordinating whale punch are still available, so that’s good news 🙂
Each paper sheet measure 6″ x 6″ (15.2 x 15.2 cm) and I cut this one into 3 pieces measuring 2″ x 3″ (5 x 7.6 cm) and 2 pieces measuring 1 1/2″ x 6″ (3.8 x 15.2 cm):
This Seabed Embossing Folder (retired) makes an ideal background for the turtles:
You can see here that I’ve used the wider double sided tape on the cardstock. This is to make sure that the embossed layer stays stuck down!
And these are the inks I used, the sentiment comes from Whale Done, and I cut the sentiment out using a Pretty Pillowbox die:
MEANWHILE … I’m busy keeping up with the ‘Card a Day in May’ challenge! On the 15th, I embossed a set of cat cards using these colours (they’re on a bag I own!!):
As always, thank you so much for spending time with me and if you have any questions about this card, please ask, and have a wonderful week! Megan xo
