Make it Monday: Easter cards in the Post!
Hello friends! These cards were made yesterday (Monday) but I needed to get them to the Post Office and ran out of time to write this blog post!! I love that the front panels focus on the real meaning of Easter 🙂
I experimented with different shades of yellow and blue to create the background; the final design was a choice between these:
They look very similar, I know! I chose the one on the left as the darker ink made the cross and sentiment easier to see:
Confession time! I own multiple stamping platforms (but pinky promise, I use them all!). I chose to use the Mini MISTI Tool to stamp the 1st part of the design 🙂 STEP 1: I stamped the ground /sand in Crushed Curry ink with the large stamp from the Love What You Do set:
STEP 2: I flipped each cardstock panel 180 degrees, re-inked the same stamp with Balmy Blue ink and stamped a second time. The overlap of the yellow and blue ink created the effect of grass:
STEP 3: To stamp the cross and sentiment from the Easter Message stamp set (retired) I used the Tim Holtz Stamping Platform and chose Merry Merlot ink:
STEP 4: I placed each card front in the Stone 3D Embossing Folder (retired) and ran them through the Big Shot to add this distinctive texture:
STEP 5: I decorated the inside of each card with the flowers and another sentiment from the same stamp set:
MEANWHILE Not to downplay the seriousness of Covid-19, but what a clever response from this cartoonist!!
Thanks so much for visiting me today; it’s always lovely to have you here 🙂 If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
