Make it Monday: Country Thanks!
Hello friends! Winter has arrived with a ‘bang’ here in Sydney and we saw snow last week when travelling home from visiting family in Yeoval – no wonder we felt cold!!
Today’s card is my escape to warmer weather! It has a similar design to last week’s sheep card and also uses the beautiful New Horizons paper for the background:
To add texture to the card, I embossed the Polished Pink cardstock panels with the Painted Texture embossing folder:
Fresh Freesia is one of the colours in the watercolour background and I used this coloured cardstock for the card base; I think they look quite pretty together 🙂
I stamped directly onto the paper with a floral stamp from the Dragonfly Garden set. Using a stamp positioning tool like this one (there are quite a few on the market) means the flowers are always stamped in the same place on the paper:
Bumble Bee yellow (retired) is used on this paper, but when I stamped a sun with that ink (Left) I thought it was too dark so used Daffodil Delight instead (Right):
The ‘Thanks’ sentiment is from Hand-penned Petals and the small dragonfly comes from the Dragonflies Punch (which also coordinates with the ‘Dragonfly Garden’ set):
Adhesive foam dots give extra dimension to the sentiment and the dragonfly:
MEANWHILE … On the trip home we saw a number of different sculptures that are part of the Animals on Bikes”Paddock Art” sculpture tourist trail; ‘Hot Rod Henny’ was my favourite!!
Thanks so much for visiting me today; I really appreciate you spending time here 🙂 If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
