Make it Monday: a birthday card for Emily!
Hello friends! Guess who’s nearly 12? Emily!!! It’s such a blessing that she’s had relatively stable health for a number of years now, much longer than anticipated. There are ongoing challenges, but she maintains her love of life and a fun sense of humour 🙂 This card I’ve made features 2 things she really likes – any guesses?!Â
The ballerina is from a retired Christmas set by Stampin’ Up! – yet another one I’m glad I’ve kept!Â
I used the Brother ScanNCut to cut out the figures, then scissors to cut away the extra white cardstock below her right arm:Â
Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) make colouring in very easy:Â
The card design features 2 cards, the smaller one is inserted into the larger one, but in the opposite direction. I’ve adhered some floral Designer Series Paper to the card front, then cut a ‘window’ using one of the Celebration Labels Dies (retired):
This white card will go inside the pink card; I’ve embossed what will be the top side of the white card with the Country Floral embossing folder (retired):Â
Look closely! Can you see how I’ve adhered the 2 cards together?Â
I’ve attached the ballerina to the embossed flowers using adhesive foam dots (aka Stampin’ Dimensionals):Â
I used a smaller Celebration Die to cut another ‘window’ out of the leftover piece, and die-cut a ‘1’ and a ‘2’ from pink glimmer paper to make the ’12’:
The ballerina is on one side of the embossed piece, and this is on the other side:Â
Hopefully, this makes it easier to conceptualise!Â
MEANWHILE … our roses continue to bloom and bring me joy!Â
So happy you could stop by for a few minutes, I really appreciate it! Have a good week, Megan xo
