Holiday Inspiration #1
Hello friends! As you know, we loved our time in NZ and returned home safely a week ago. After catching up on almost 4 week’s worth of ‘stuff’, I’ve been able to hide in my studio (aka a spare bedroom!!) and use the Waterfront stamp set I’ve never opened!
There’s always a “playing process” for me; I experiment with the stamps in a set, possible colours of ink and cardstock to use, and what the finished card might look like. As you can see here I wasn’t sure about colours, or the mountains, or the placement of the trees … !
Once happy with the focal point of the design, I experimented further; here, with placing a stitched circle behind the disc and trying different colours of cardstock:
I wasn’t really happy with any of these! I ended up choosing a completely different cardstock colour and added a silver circle between the stamped picture and the cardstock layer:
Being the ‘Texture Queen’ I added some subtle embossing to the front card panel and really love the end result 🙂
Thanks so much for visiting today and I look forward to sharing my second holiday inspiration card very soon! Megan xo
