Friday Show & Tell: Minecraft anyone?
Hello friends! WARNING: This design is not for the faint-hearted or perfectionist! A Minecraft Birthday Party deserves a Minecraft card, right? I went to ‘the Google’ and have been educated about many things Minecraft!! Squares, greens and browns, mining, gold … so glad I kept my retired 1″ (2.5cm) punch!! 🙂
STEPS: (1) Score 1″ (2.5cm) squares on a 5″ x 7″ (13cm x 18cm) piece of green cardstock; (2) punch lots of different coloured 1″ green and brown squares; (3) work out a pattern that you like; (4) use lots of adhesive and …
Ta-dah!! A card front:
More punching to get black squares for creating the number ‘9’:
The edges of the card front weren’t quite even, so of course I had to trim them (yep, perfectionist tendencies!) :
MORE STEPS:Â (1) adhere the card front to a panel of gold foil; (2) punch a gold foil square for the centre of the number 9; (3) emboss the black squares for added texture with the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder; (4) use adhesive foam dots to attach the black squares; (5) adhere it all to a black hand cut and scored card base:
I had quite a few left over squares:
So I used them to decorate the coordinating writing panel inside the card:
A matching black envelope, and I was finished!
Thanks so much for visiting today 🙂 I hope you have a lovely weekend and I’ll be back next week to share some more inspiration from custom cards! Megan xo
