Friday Show and Tell: Emily’s Unicorn!
Hello friends! I’ve been selling cards for A wish for Emily for a few years now and I never cease to be amazed by this beautiful young girl’s love of life and the special family who support this life on a daily basis. Every birthday that Emily gets to celebrate is very special and I’m glad to say she loved my birthday unicorn!
The frame measured 8″ x 8″ (20cm x 20cm) and the mount was 6″ x 6″ (15cm x 15cm); I stamped the mount with a gorgeous starry swirl from the Star of Light stamp set (retired) using Golden Glitz Delicata Ink – magic!
I pulled out all my glimmer paper as I wasn’t sure what colours I wanted to use; pretty soon I had a DD (Desk Disaster) ? I opted for gold glimmer paper for the unicorn horn, a soft green (retired) for the leaves and sparkle glimmer paper for the centre of the large flower:
Next stop was the kitchen bench so I could spread out and play with a few different ideas 🙂 The small flowers came from the Sale-a-bration 2020 Thoughtful Blooms stamp set and coordinating punch, and I wiped the stamped flowers with an aqua painter to spread the ink:
I used some of my many punches to create eyelashes, ears, leaves and flowers; the idea for the ears came from Stampin Star Creations – thanks Esther! Your challenge? Spot the eyelashes!!
Out of the sun: no reflection from the glass!
In the sun: sparkle and depth!
MEANWHILE I finally finished the cow cards and posted them to family:
Thanks so much for visiting me today; it’s always lovely to have you here 🙂 If you have any questions please ask and I hope this has given you a little inspiration! Megan xo
