Countdown to Christmas 2024: 5 weeks!
Hello friends! Much more exciting than our birthdays has been the birth of our precious grandson, Cali Francis Cooper, to Andrew and Sarah, on the 9th of October!! He was born at 29 and a half weeks so achieving 6 weeks today has been a day-by-day, up-and-down crazy journey for both Cali and his Mum and Dad – we’re so proud of them all and love them to bits! 🙂
Although I create a mix of both faith based and secular type Christmas cards, I’m well aware that ‘Jesus is the reason for the season’! This ‘5 weeks ’til Christmas’ card is about the nativity and I designed it based on one of my favourite stamps and dies (retired) from Simon Says Stamp:
I also used a punch that I’ve had for many years to punch out lots of silvery stars. I chose double-sided adhesive foam dots to adhere the nativity die-cut and give added dimension, while the mini glue dots were perfect for attaching the stars:
As I mentioned last week, I’m featuring dry embossing on all my cards in the lead up to the festive season; this Christmas Holly Frame by Poppy Crafts is beautiful with its 3 dimensional embossing:
And looks very striking on the card fronts:
The cards come together quite quickly when all the elements of the design are prepared beforehand:
MEANWHILE … we’ve finally met the frog who’s been keeping us awake; such a handsome specimen!
Thanks so much for stopping by to spend a little time with me and hopefully find some inspiration; have a lovely and hopefully not-too-hot week! Megan xo
