Countdown to Christmas 2021: 4 weeks!
Hello friends! It’s a cool and rainy day today in Sydney – the perfect weather to stay inside and get crafty 🙂 Do you remember the small Christmas cards I made the other week? Well, this is a very cute tote or treat box that can hold 3 of the cards plus envelopes!
I used the Pretty Pillowbox Dies (from ‘Countdown to Christmas 2021: 9 weeks‘):
and the Gingerbread & Peppermint paper and cards from ‘Countdown to Christmas 2021: 8 weeks‘:
You use the the middle and top section of the die and cut it twice for the sides of the tote. Next, die-cut the middle section twice from patterned paper and trim along the score lines as shown here, and in the next picture, to remove any excess paper:
The pieces should look like this before adhering the patterned paper to the cardstock using liquid glue:
kitchentablestamper.com has a video that shows you how to get perfect placement for the hole using a post-it note and circle punch:
The template for the box section that holds the cards comes from Create with Nancy:Â
I made the box in Basic White cardstock and used double-sided tape rather than liquid glue. Notice the clever way Nancy hides the tab between the 2 flaps:Â
Once the box is made you adhere the sides of the tote to the box like this:Â
Three cards and envelopes fit easily:
Like this!
I tied the tote closed with Real Red Sheer Ribbon:Â
And stamped ‘Happy Holidays’ from the Frosted Gingerbread stamp set 🙂
MEANWHILE … I’m writing an Object Biography about my Great Grandmother’s Fowler Ware Pudding Bowl from the 1930s – fascinating! Thanks so much for visiting me today; I hope you found a little inspiration for your own creating   Megan xo
