Countdown to Christmas 2021: 1 week!
Hello friends! Less than a week until Christmas and I’m still not sure exactly what’s happening thanks to ‘that-which-shall-not-be-named’. I decided to cheer myself up by creating this fun card featuring a sheep – very Australian!
This stamp comes from the Counting Sheep stamp set which is now retired:
You need the same materials whether making one card or 20, so I tend to make multiples of any card design. The colouring was quick this week – the face coloured with the light Smoky Slate alcohol marker and the hooves with the dark:
Coordinating dies equals no fussing cutting which I love because it speeds up the process:
The greeting comes from the Penguin Place stamp set and is perfect as it’s been so hot here in Sydney:
The Christmas tree was punched out in Cherry Cobbler cardstock using the Pine Tree Punch:
And the star I finally decided to use was this one from the Stitched Stars Dies:
I don’t usually share this step, but part of the process is playing around with possible designs. I started with this idea then changed the star, the colour of the card base, the position of the greeting and added some embossing!!
If you look closely, the star is shiny and the hooves are glossy and raised:
MEANWHILE … my latest (and last!) Christmas earring acquisition for 2021:
Thanks so much for visiting me today and I hope these final days before Christmas aren’t too hectic for you! Take care and stay safe, Megan xo
