A wish for Emily #10: thankful!
Hello friends! I wanted to quickly share a recent update from Emily’s Mum!!
I often get asked if spending all that time in the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne was worth it with now two teams to coordinate … I found a school photo of Em from 2 years ago (Left). Her bilirubin was over 250 (normal is under 15). She was yellow with jaundice, swollen and was in so much pain. Both her legs had severe fractures and she was in a wheelchair. Her liver was failing and life wasn’t great. While she still relies on artificial nutrition, her bones are still weak, and she often has pain … she just keeps on going! (Right)
This kid is amazing! I am honoured to be her mum and full of thankfulness for all the teams at both hospitals and her school. Transplant is still there but for now we are thankful. This was just so encouraging to read!!
While studying I neglected my Etsy shop, but I’m slowly adding new designs and all proceeds from sales through Etsy, or purchased from me in person, will go to A Wish for Emily. I’ve already added these 🙂
A Wish for Emily also has a facebook page if you’d like to follow her journey, and donations are able to be made through gofundme.com/awishforemily. Thanks so much for reading and wish me luck creating!! Megan xo
Love this post!
A happy post! 🙂
