Make it Monday: Magic Reindeer Food!

Hello friends! It’s 3 years since I made Magic Reindeer Food so I was quite excited when I received an order for some! How cute do these look? 🙂

I still had a number of these sturdy plastic test tubes (bought on Ebay) in my craft cupboard (no, I’m not a hoarder!!): The reindeer food needs to be edible in case children or animals taste it so I used rolled oats and these Wilton Sugar Sprinkles (they’re free of artificial colours and flavours):

I used both jars of sprinkles and just kept adding more rolled oats to the mix:

And stopped when I was happy with how it looked:

The reindeer toppers and tinsel pipe cleaners were also left over from last time:

And I always have a good supply of bells in my stash:

I adhered the reindeer heads to the screw top lids with adhesive foam dots:

I prefer the screw top lids to the cork stoppers as you’ll get fewer accidental spills!

Threading the bells onto the pipe cleaners, then twisting the pipe cleaners, keeps the bells more secure and much harder for young children to remove:

There’s a popular poem that can be included with the tubes. Here’s one version: Sprinkle on the lawn at night, the moon will make it sparkle bright!! As Santa’s Reindeer fly and roam, this will guide them to your home.

MEANWHILE … Paul has been getting a little carried away with the Christmas lights!!

Thanks so much for taking some time out of your busy day to visit me here 🙂 Please ask if you have any questions about this reindeer food, or anything else you’ve seen me post, and enjoy your week! Megan xo
