Countdown to Christmas 2021: 11 weeks!
Hello friends! How has your week been? There’s been a lot of political activity in NSW, but nothing’s changed the plan to start coming out of lockdown on Monday! Today I created this cute penguin card in three colours to add to my Etsy shop:
I started with punching out the penguins using the Penguin Builder Punch; first, the outer black shape:
And then the white front of the penguin:
Liquid glue was perfect for adhering the pieces together:
These penguins were to use with this gorgeous coordinating Penguin Playmates Designer Series Paper (retired) which I cut into 5 5/8″ x 3 7/8″ (14.3 cm x 9.85 cm) pieces from 12″ x 12″ sheets:
There are three different patterns that each include penguins. The blue paper coordinates with Misty Moonlight cardstock, the pink paper with Fresh Freesia and the green paper with Just Jade:
Look closely and you’ll find the penguin eyes, beak and feet stamps:
I should have stamped the white layer before adhering it to the black layer in case of inky mistakes!
Two adhesive foam dots were enough for attaching the penguins to the card front and giving them some added dimension:
I used double sided tape to adhere the patterned paper to the card base:
This sentiment is a fun one that I cut out using a Stitched Rectangle Die:
It comes from a retired stamp set called Snow Place:
So, there are 3 similar but different fun Christmas / Holiday cards:
MEANWHILE … it has been so lovely to welcome spring into our garden and have roses to enjoy inside the house as well as outside!
Thanks so much for stopping by for a few minutes, I really appreciate it! Have a lovely rest of the weekend, Megan xo
