Countdown to Christmas 2019: 5 weeks!
Hello friends! It’s ‘that time of year’ when children (and adults!) start exchanging cards and sweet treats to celebrate the upcoming holidays and Christmas 🙂 I used the #Elfie stamp set to create a cute ‘Treat Card’! Any small packets of sweets will do, but I found these at Kmart:
WHAT TO DO?
(1)Â With the short side at the top, score a piece of A4 white cardstock at 2-1/2″ (6.4cm), 2-3/4″ (7cm), 5-3/4″ (14.6cm) and 6″ (15.2cm):
(2) Rotate the cardstock 90 degrees, line the left edge of the cardstock up at 3-3/4″ (9.5cm) on your paper trimmer, and cut. Repeat this step twice:
(3)Â I used a stamp positioning tool to position and stamp the 3 Elves :
(4) Fold along the score lines so the Elves are on the inside of the ‘card’. These punches (the Starburst, Everyday Label, and 2″(5.1cm) Circle) made it easy to prepare the different pieces:
Applying Wink of Stella Glitter to this Elf’s cap caused the red ink to smudge; I can’t decide whether I like it or not!
The sentiment goes on the back, with plenty of room for writing a note before the sweets are packaged:
I’ve used mini velcro dots to hold the sweets in place:
and to keep the ‘Treat Card’ closed 🙂
This is how it opens, and once the sweets are gone the Elves can be coloured in!
Whether or not you colour this elf is totally up to you!
While I had children in mind when designing this, it could easily be adapted for other ages and celebrations just by using different coloured inks, stamps and sentiments. Thanks so much for visiting me today, I really appreciate it! If you have any questions please ask, and I hope you’ve found a little festive inspiration! Megan xo
Thanks for these great ideas Megan
Thanks Karen! I hope some of them will be useful 🙂
