Countdown to Christmas 2019: 1 week!

Hello friends! Yay … only 7 sleeps to go!! I’ve loved making the Christmas ornaments I shared last week. 🙂 The next step was to design a box so the ornaments could be given as gifts. For the box base I chose a dominant colour from the patterned paper – in this instance, Night of Navy cardstock:

The box base measures 8″ x 8″ and is scored at 1-1/2″ on every side:

The lid measures 6-5/8″ x 6-5/8″ and is scored at 3/4″ on every side:

Both the box base and lid are assembled like this one and I used liquid glue:

To decorate the sides I used 4 strips of gold foil sheet (4-3/4″ x 3/4″) and 4 pieces of coordinating patterned paper (4-3/4″ x 1/2″). I adhered each paper strip to a strip of gold foil using liquid glue then adhered these strips to the 4 sides of the box:

Underneath the ornament is a piece of Whisper White cardstock (4-7/8″ x 4-7/8″) that has been embossed with stars; the embossing folder’s by Sue Wilson 🙂

The 3 layers decorating the lid measure 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″ (Night of Navy cardstock), 4″ x 4″ (gold foil sheet), and 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ (patterned paper); they’re also adhered with the liquid glue:

This is such a good way to use up double sided paper and I think they might sell well at Craft Fairs 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting me today and I hope the week before Christmas isn’t too hectic for you! Megan xo
