Make it Monday: Peaceful Nativity!

Hello friends! I hope you’re keeping safe and well. I know my **Christmas in July** creating is finished, but I’m sneaking in one more post so I can share this new stamp set and the nativity card I made! 🙂 Here’s the card:

And here’s the stamp set! It’s called Peaceful Nativity and was released today by Stampin’ Up!; I love that there are coordinating dies!

With a new stamp set, I often leave the stamps in the rubber backing, ink up all the stamps at the same time, stamp them once (like I’ve done here), then separate them from the backing:

I’ll then die-cut the stamped images:

Sometimes there are extra dies that don’t have coordinating stamps – can you find them? 😉

Once all the pieces are stamped and die-cut, I ‘play’ with them to see how I might arrange them on a card front – lots of possibilities!

I wasn’t sure how I’d use it, but I love this gorgeous rainbow glimmer paper and wanted to make it part of the card:

CARD BASE 2 WAYS! (1)  I scored an A4 sheet of cardstock at 2 3/8″ and 3 7/8″ then rotated the  sheet 180 degrees, scoring it again at 2 3/8″ and 3 7/8″:

(2) One cut lengthwise at the 4 1/8″ mark gave me 2 card bases that were scored and ready to use 🙂

(3) If you fold the sides forward then the finished card will look like this (embossing is optional!):

(4) If you fold the sides back then the finished card will look like this:

(5) I’ve added two writing panels to the back of the card (one on the left side and one on the right side). For the centre back panel, I die-cut a star from the Starlight Thinlit Dies (retired) and stamped the word ‘Rejoice!’ (from the Peaceful Nativity set) in gold:

MEANWHILE … I worked out that my most popular Instagram post for **Christmas in July** was this one; they were fun to make!

Paul goes into Hospital on Wednesday for surgery on the vertebrae in his neck so we’ve been busy getting organised for that. I’ve rediscovered how easy it is to overspend on groceries when you shop for them online – I’m blaming the specials!! Thank you so much for spending time with me today and if you have any questions, please ask. Have a good week! Megan xo
