Countdown to Christmas 2019: 3 weeks!

Hello friends! How are you going with your plans for Christmas? For me, it’s been all about designing packaging! I needed some bags for these yummy gingerbread folk with room for Haribo Bears and candy canes 🙂

While not essential, the We R Memory Keepers Gift Bag Punch Board has made the whole process so quick and easy! It gives me all the measurements and shows me where to punch and score the paper. You could use any paper, but mine’s this very cute retired Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP):

When you’ve punched and scored, turn the DSP around, and then turn the board around, and you can punch holes for threading ribbon or twine by using the reverse punch:

And here’s what the top and bottom edges of the paper will look like before you fold along all the score lines and apply some adhesive to the side and bottom of the bag:

My next step was to make a Bag Holder Box! Take a piece of cardstock that measures 6-3/4″ x 5-1/8″; score on each side at 1-1/2″; fold along all the score lines; cut as shown; adhere the 4 corner pieces to the inside of the box with liquid glue (I used Tombow):

For this project I made the Bag Holder Box in red; I also made a coordinating card and used Stampin’ Up!  Jute Twine (retired) for the handles:

The card base measures 7″ x 3-7/8″, scored at 3-1/2″, and folded in half. The DSP, and the white writing panel for inside the card, each measure 3-1/4″ x 3-5/8″. Just pop the completed card in the Bag Holder Box with the Gift Bag and you’re done!

Thanks so much for taking the time to visit today and I hope this gives you a little inspiration, especially if you’re a crafter who hoards paper! Megan xo
