Week Three of Shop Restock!

Hello friends! This latest restock of my ‘chicken cards’ has taken me twice as long as it involved more than just remaking the same design – I added 3 new chicken images, decided to sell them in sets of 2 cards, and embraced a black and white ‘look’ with only a little colour. These were the original cards with the time consuming colouring in!

While I used both these retired stamp sets and dies (Hey Chick and Hey Birthday Chick), the top set gave me the new chicken images – can you see them?

Here are two of the old images with one of the new ones, all stamped in StazOn black ink:

The coordinating dies make it really easy to cut out the chooks before adhering them to the card fronts:

Initially, I did water colour the images, but I was reminded of how much work this step is and decided to add minimal colour instead!

I hand embossed 36 card fronts with the chicken wire embossing folder:

Now you’ll see the minimal colouring added to feet, beaks, wattles and combs! Each card set has one old and one new chicken/rooster image which are attached with adhesive foam dots for added dimension. Set 1: Set 2:And Set 3:  MEANWHILE …we farewelled our son’s cat after 19 nights [but hey, who’s counting 😉 ] and can now relax whenever we open an external door!
