Make it Monday: Whale Cards & Bookmarks!
Hello friends! I hope this new week has started well for you. 🙂 Have you ever been whale watching? The Australian coastline provides us with many opportunities to observe these majestic creatures on their annual migration and I love that I can make cards that include them:
This Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper (DSP) celebrates aquatic life with images and colours straight from the sea – love it!
I had the idea to see if I could make a card and matching bookmark from one piece of 6″ x 6″ (15.2cm x 15.2cm) DSP. CARD FRONT: I cut the paper at 4″ then used the 6″ x 4″ piece to create the card front. I cut off a small piece to use as a decorative strip on the white inside writing panel. BOOKMARK: I cut a 6 1/4″ x 2 1/4″ piece of coordinating cardstock – lots of colours to choose from! On one side, I adhered the remaining 6″ x 2″ piece of DSP. On the reverse side, I adhered a 6″ x 2″ strip of Whisper White cardstock:Â
Here’s an example of the pieces needed for one card and bookmark and how I put them together (without using stamps or ink!):
This coordinating Whale Punch punched out whales from some of the DSP; I then attached the whales to the card fronts using adhesive foam dots 🙂
These cards make me smile!
And here’s an example of a card and matching bookmark – I love how these have turned out:
MEANWHILE … can you guess what’s happening on the weekend? I’ll let you know next week if I remembered!!Â
If you haven’t visited my blog before I want to thank you for being here  I love to share a little weekly inspiration (most weeks!) and if you have any questions I’d be very happy to answer them! Stay safe and keep well, Megan xo
Great cards!!
Thanks Stephanie! The paper makes it very easy to create cards!
