Just Add Ink #366 “Just Add A”

A fun challenge from the Just Add Ink team this week: to “Just Add A” so the letter “A” is the main focus of the project.

My first thought was the Stampin’ Up! ink colour Always Artichoke so I went with it – never been a fave, but I like it better now!! I also discovered it’s the only Stampin’ Up! colour beginning with “A”! The card became Always Artichoke meets Avant Garden stamps (retiredwith help from Very Vanilla cardstock and a touch of Copper Foil (see details below). The sentiment is from Vertical Greetings:

I liked the elegant look and carried this over to the inside panel where I stamped the flower once, then stamped it twice more without reinking:

If you have any questions about the process or products please ask, and I hope this card give you a little inspiration. Thanks so much for dropping by!

“BACK TO BASIC” TECHNIQUES
  • Adding layers and dimension became very important to add interest to the design, as did the addition of a panel of dry embossing using the Petal Burst embossing folder.
  • Fussy Cutting (trimming a stamped image) around the flowers and popping them up on Dimensionals also achieved this.
  • The layer of Copper Foil helped to give some ‘life’ to the card front.
  • The technique of Second Generation Stamping (stamping a 2nd time without reinking the stamp) gave a faded look to the inside panel of the card and also created a sense of depth/ dimension; does my stamping 3 times without reinking make it 3rd generation stamping?!
