Countdown to Christmas 2024: 3 weeks!
Hello friends! It’s almost time for us to put up our Christmas decorations, inside and out. One tradition is to display an inflatable nativity scene in our front yard 🙂 After 10 years, we’ve needed to replace it with this (as you can see, our son’s cat approves!):
Another tradition is for me to create sets of cards using a magi embossing folder; I don’t have many folders that reflect the true meaning of Christmas or share part of the Christmas story. I always choose a main colour then make 4 cards in shades of that colour, like these blue ones: This year, I decided to make sets of 2 cards and to only use white cardstock: Another difference is that I’ve added a sentiment. This sentiment is from the Star of Light stamp set (retired) and I stamped it in Night of Navy ink:
I then die-cut it out with a stitched die to add texture and interest to the edges:
This year I also wanted to add a silver star. I didn’t have the right sized star punch, so it took a lot longer to individually die-cut these ones!
MEANWHILE … each week since Cali was born at 29 weeks, we’ve been giving him a book, including lots of family favourites like Dear Zoo, Each Peach Pear Plum and Hairy Maclary from Donaldson’s Dairy! Today, it was Possum Magic 🙂
Thanks so much for spending some time with me and I hope you have a wonderful rest of your week. 🙂 Megan xo
